Introducing Svbcription

Last year, with a desire to take Portable’s focus on curated online content offline, founders Andrew Apostola and Simon Goodrich joined forces with Marc Goldenfein, former editor of The Vine, and Sam Wheeler, one half of New York-based Aux Armes. The result is Svbscription, a luxury subscription service for men that delivers a package of hand-selected items to members’ doors once every three months.
A consultant to the likes of Hermès, Jill Stuart, Steven Alan, Valentino, Madewell and Barneys, Mr Wheeler says the Svbscription service will provide the recipient with behind-the-scenes access to a coveted industry.
“There is a specific guy we are curating each parcel for,” he told Portable TV. “He is already secure with what he shops for and where he travels, but does not have the time to continually search for those substantial objects and experiences as they become discovered.”
Svbscription promises to offer its members exclusive items, curated in collaboration with designers and fellow industry tastemakers in what Pando Daily‘s Erin Griffith — a self-confessed subscription commerce hater — describes as an idea that Ups the Ante on the “Stuff in a Box” Trend.
Svbscription launched last week with a garden party in New York at the SoHo Grand Hotel. Guests included Steven Alan, Jamie Lamm (Host, Fearless Music TV), Wendell Brown (Senior Fashion Editor, Esquire), Tanner Cohen (White Girl Problems) and Justin Stefano (Founder, Refinery29).
Registrations are now available for the first Svbscription parcel, which arrives on doorsteps worldwide in the first week of July. Only 100 parcels are available, so secure your place now.
